Click here for booking On the UAE’s eastern coast, Fujairah is a
slower, more sedate place to holiday. Far from the buzz of Dubai or Abu Dhabi,
this emirate offers a chilled, scenic escape that’s ideal for couples,
families, and solo travellers alike.
From dramatic mountains and ancient forts
to coral reefs and quiet beaches, there are plenty of things to do in Fujairah
- and even more reasons to visit.
Whether you're planning a spring
holiday, a day trip or a long weekend(link to city breaks page when
live), here's your ultimate guide to our favourite Fujairah tourist places and
activities.

Al-Bidyah Mosque
Long known as the UAE’s
oldest functioning mosque, this ancient place of worship is still in use and
it’s definitely a must-see for history buffs. Located just north of Fujairah
city, Al-Bidyah Mosque dates back to the 15th century and is surrounded by archaeological
sites and watchtowers. It’s compact, to say the least, but like any old place
of worship, there’s a beautiful sense of character and history, making it one
of the most fascinating places to see in Fujairah.

Fujairah Fort and Heritage Village
No list of Fujairah places to visit would
be complete without this beautifully restored fort, one of the oldest in the
UAE, and we’re certainly not about to leave it off ours. Explore the fort’s
towers, courtyards, and battlements, then head to the nearby Heritage Village
to learn about traditional Emirati life. It’s a great Fujairah activity for
families and culture vultures alike.

Snoopy Island
So-called because it apparently looks
like the eponymous cartoon dog lying on his back, you won’t find the characters
of Peanuts on this island. Instead, this rocky outcrop off the coast of Al Aqah
Beach is a favourite for water sports lovers. Book a snorkelling or kayaking
excursion to see turtles, colourful fish, and coral reefs. If you're looking
for things to do in Fujairah with family, a beach day here ticks all the boxes
for a day that’s fun, safe, and full of natural beauty.
Al Aqah beach
A long, peaceful stretch of coastline
backed by the Hajar Mountains, Al Aqah Beach is perfect for unwinding. Bring a
picnic, rent a paddleboard, or simply enjoy the scenery. It’s one of the top
Fujairah tourist places for both relaxation and light adventure.
To get the best of the area, head to one
of the beach resorts for a luxurious poolside retreat, with everything you need
to unwind right at your fingertips.

Sheikh Zayed Mosque, Fujairah
Not to be confused with its Abu Dhabi
counterpart, Fujairah’s Sheikh Zayed Mosque is an architectural gem in its own
right, and the main mosque in Fujairah. With its vast domes and towering
minarets, it's one of the most impressive places to visit in Fujairah,
especially at sunset when the white marble glows against the mountains.
Friday Market (Masafi)
Just before you reach Fujairah city,
outside the village of Masafi, you’ll find Masafi market - also known as Souq
Al Jima’a, in Arabic, the name is ‘the Friday Market’. It’s a lively stop full
of rugs, pottery, fruits, and souvenirs. Pick up gorgeous taste tangerines,
dates, and honey, or sip on fresh coconut water and fresh juice while you
peruse the stalls.
The market is open all week (despite what
the misleading name might suggest) and it’s a lovely way to get a taste of real
local life. Bargaining is expected, so be ready to haggle to get the best
deals! The Friday Market is a great place to pick up gifts and support local
vendors while ticking off your list of Fujairah things to do.
Fujairah Museum
Located near the fort, the Fujairah
Museum showcases artefacts from the Bronze Age to the present day. Its
collection includes weapons, pottery, coins, and traditional costumes. If
you're looking for something to do in Fujairah if you’re visiting in summer,
and the weather gets unbearably hot, this air-conditioned indoor stop is just
the ticket.
Wadi Wurayah National Park
If you're craving a slightly more wild
experience that’s a bit more off the beaten path, Wadi Wurayah is the UAE’s
first designated mountain protected area. With hidden waterfalls, freshwater
pools, and rare wildlife, it’s a dream for hikers, photographers, and nature
lovers. Note that entry may be restricted, so plan ahead or go with a licensed
guide - if you’re travelling with DW Travel, we can arrange an excursion so you
can explore to your heart’s content.
Fujairah Mall
If you’re after a spot of retail therapy
or just a nice, cooling escape from the sun, Fujairah Mall offers a relaxed
shopping experience with a mix of high-street brands, local boutiques, and
dining options. There’s also a cinema and kids’ play areas, making it a handy
option for families looking for things to do in Fujairah with family on a
quieter day.
Umbrella Beach
One of the Emirate’s newest beachfront
destinations, Umbrella Beach has an almost Mediterranean laid-back vibe – but
naturally, with all of the modern amenities. You’ll find shaded seating, cafés,
food trucks, and a waterfront promenade that’s just perfect for evening
strolls. It’s one of the trendier places to visit in Fujairah, and popular with
families and couples for a chilled-out day trip.
Dhow Day Cruise from Dibba
For something truly memorable, book a
traditional dhow cruise from Dibba—just a short drive north of Fujairah city.
These wooden boats sail through the dramatic fjord-like coastlines of Musandam,
with stops for snorkelling, swimming, and lunch on board. It’s a top-tier
Fujairah activity if you want a day of relaxation and natural beauty, with all
of the lovely parts of this area encapsulated into one neat package.
Fujairah may not have the skyscrapers or
shopping malls of some other emirates such as Ras Al Khaimah, but that’s exactly its charm.
With its mountain-meets-the-sea scenery, beaches, and culture and heritage,
there’s plenty of places to see in Fujairah on a weekend escape. Whether you're
looking for an easy family staycationor simply want to unwind by the water, DW Travel can help you plan a tailored
getaway to see the best parts of Fujairah.
